Sonography

Sonography, also known as ultrasound imaging, is a medical diagnostic imaging technique that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of organs, tissues, and blood flow within the body.

During a sonography procedure, a handheld device called a transducer is placed on the skin, which emits sound waves that penetrate the body and bounce back off internal structures. The transducer then collects the echoes and sends them to a computer, which processes the information and generates images in real-time.

Sonography is a non-invasive and painless procedure that can be used to examine various parts of the body, including the abdomen, pelvis, breast, heart, and blood vessels. It is commonly used to diagnose and monitor conditions such as pregnancy, gallstones, tumors, and blood clots, among others. Sonography is also used to guide certain medical procedures, such as biopsies and injections.
